Fifth Anniversary of Ziba's murder by the Iranian Government
On this fifth anniversary, my friend Shahrzad and I went to visit Zahra Kazemi Olive Tree, planted in Saint-Jérome near by the Old Train Station by a group of "Friends": a coalition of people and organizations as well as the city of Saint-Jérome. I'd like to take the opportunity to express my deep appreciation to them for taking this initiative and realizing such a beautifull act. And again, thank you for the invitation on August 6th, 2005, to plant the Tree and take part to the commemoration.
Olive trees are symbols of gracefulness and abundance. There are also growing in Iran. In the video below, we can see Ziba Tree beside her new friend, Digna Tree. Digna Ochoa was a Mexican lawyer who has been murdered by the Mexican Government. Like Ziba, she had stood up for Human Rights, in the frame of her occupation.
